Core philosophy:
As human beings, language is one of the most potent and distinctive tools at our disposal. The words encountered, whether spoken by others or generated within one’s own mind as thoughts, possess the capacity to inflict profound emotional pain and persistent distress. Conversely, language can also provide solace, elicit joy, provoke laughter, and catalyse life-transforming changes. Embracing this foundational principle of psychoanalytic therapy, language and speech are utilized as the primary therapeutic instruments during sessions. However, recognizing the limitations of language, principles and practical elements from various therapeutic modalities, including cognitive behavioural therapy, solution-focused therapy, and couples therapy, are also integrated to ensure a comprehensive and effective approach to treatment.
